COLT: Welcome and Introduction

Welcome and introduction given by Charles Marsh at the Conference on Lived Theology and Civil Courage in Charlottesville, Virginia, in June 2003. Marsh gives a brief introduction and explanation of the background and aim of the conference and the Project on Lived Theology.
Excerpt: “I am mindful that this gathering crosses a number of boundaries and it does so by creating, I think, and nurturing an institutional space where theologians and scholars with theological sensibilities are free to appropriate the rich, lived social experience of communities as material for theological reflection.”
