Jemar Tisby
Jemar Tisby (BA, Notre Dame; MDiv, Reformed Theological Seminary, Jackson; PhD in history, University of Mississippi) is founder and CEO of The Witness, Inc. as well as co-host of the “Pass The Mic” podcast. His writing has been featured in the Washington Post, CNN, The Atlantic, and the New York Times. He has spoken nationwide at conferences on racial justice, U.S. history, and Christianity, and is the author of The Color of Compromise: The Truth about the American Church’s Complicity in Racism (Zondervan, 2020); How to Fight Racism: Courageous Christianity and the Journey Toward Racial Justice (Zondervan, 2021); and How to Fight Racism Young Reader’s Edition: A Guide to Standing Up for Racial Justice (Zonderkidz, 2022).
He is an author of a chapter on Tom Skinner for our book People Get Ready: Twelve Jesus-Haunted Misfits, Malcontents, and Dreamers in Pursuit of Justice.
