Jane Hong

Jane Hong​ is associate professor of history at Occidental College and the author of ​Opening the Gates to Asia: A Transpacific History of How America Repealed Asian Exclusion ​(University of North Carolina Press, 2019). She received her Ph.D. in history from Harvard. She is currently writing a history of Asian-American evangelicals since the 1970s, which explores how post-1965 Asian immigration has changed U.S. evangelicalism.

She is an author of a chapter on Mary Paik Lee for our book People Get Ready: Twelve Jesus-Haunted Misfits, Malcontents, and Dreamers in Pursuit of Justice.
