Gideon Park
Gideon Park is an Assistant Professor of Religion at Belmont University. His research investigates the problem of race, ethnicity, and whiteness in biblical discourse. He is the author of The Politics of Race and Ethnicity in Matthew’s Passion Narrative (Palgrave Macmillan, 2019) and editor of Stories of Minjung Theology: The Theological Journey of Ahn Byung-Mu in His Own Words (SBL Press, 2019). In December 2020, he guest edited a special issue with Jin Young Choi on systemic racism, the global pandemic, and Asian American biblical criticism for The Bible and Critical Theory. His forthcoming publications include: “Ethnic Fission and Fusion in Biblical Genealogies” (Journal of Biblical Literature), “A Pedagogy of Prejudice in Matt 15:21-28,” (SBL Press), and “Transgressing the Color Line: The Black/White Binary and Minoritized Biblical Criticism” (SBL Press).
