In the Fall of 1963, jailed SNCC activists were released, a moment of joy and relief during a time of struggle for the SNCC and the Civil Rights Movement in 1963.
White churches continued to close their doors to Black members and integration activists. Opposing members gradually left those churches and started their own “house churches.”
