In this letter from the Ku Klux Klan (KKK) under the alias “A Local Civic Group”, to the citizens of Holmes County, the KKK requests that the citizens unite against the Civil Rights Movement. The author calls the movement a disguise for Communism, comparing the anti-Civil Rights movement to the United States’s role in fighting the war in Vietnam, and he says that the citizens must go to all lengths to bring an end to the Communism both propegate. The author brings up specific examples of integration, condemning the white people and African Americans who stand for it. He ends by calling upon all readers to join together with the KKK.
