Dahmer Murder and the Response of the Church, Field Notes

In this document, the author writes about the Ku Klux Klan’s (KKK) murder of Vernon Dahmer on January 10, 1966. This murder involved a group of about fifteen KKK members visiting the Dahmer household before dawn on January 10, setting fire to the front of the Dahmer’s house, and then shooting into the house, killing Dahmer. After a brief description of the KKK’s background before the incident, including information about Sam Bowers, their Imperial Wizard, the author records the proceedings of the case. The document closes by explaining that four white men went into jail, and the other eleven people who were indicated faced no punishment.
