Compromise Seen on State School Program Deadlock

Newspaper clipping: compromise potentially reached to “equalize” Mississippi public schools, an effort to maintain “separate but equal” status. Legislators agreed that if the Supreme Court ruled against school segregation, they would need to reconvene and create a new plan to prevent integration.
