An Emergency Appeal to Southern College Students
Posted on March 16, 2024 by PLT Staff
In this letter to college students across the South, the author appeals for donations to help support the work of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC). The letter explained the purpose and organization of the SNCC, and described the ways in which the group was completely dependent on contributions from others, going so far as to suggest that if money had been available for two-way radios, James Chaney and Samuel Younge might not have been murdered. The author ended his appeal by calling for $1 per month donations in order to help ensure a secure future for all.
