Transcript of a lecture by Amy Sherman at the fourth meeting of the Lived Theology and Community Building Workgroup in Charlottesville, Virginia. Sherman discusses Charlottesville Abundant Life Ministries, its programs, philosophy of ministry, strengths and current challenges.

Excerpt: “The Kingdom of God has begun; Jesus inaugurated it. It is now. But it is also, “not yet.” We wait and long in our still-broken world for its full consummation. But while we wait, it is the task of the Church—Christ’s Body—to continue to proclaim the good news of the Kingdom, and to witness to it, to serve as foretastes of it. God is continuing to break the Kingdom into this world; He is building His Kingdom. And we participate in that work and we announce it to others—we point out where it’s breaking in. And we witness to it.”
