J. Kameron Carter

J. Kameron Carter is a professor of religious studies and co-director of the Center for Religion and the Human at Indiana University, Bloomington. His scholarship focuses on the intersection of questions of race and the current ecological ravaging of the earth. Carter previously taught theology and black church studies at Duke Divinity School. He is the author of Race: A Theological Account (Oxford University Press, 2008). More recently, Carter has finished a book manuscript that interprets white supremacy not simply as vile individual acts but as a planetary structure and practice of political theology.

Carter was a consultant for and contributed a paper to the Lived Theology and Race Workgroup meeting one.
