J. Herbert Nelson

Reverend Dr. J. Herbert Nelson II is the Stated Clerk of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). Previously, he directed PCUSA’s Office of Public Witness (OPW) in Washington, D.C., which implements the social justice agenda of the general assembly of PCUSA through advocacy with the executive and legislative branches of the federal government. Nelson also serves as a preacher, workshop leader, consultant and writer.

Dr. Nelson was a consultant for the Lived Theology and Race Workgroup.
