Stephen Fowl

Associate Professor of Theology and Chair of Theology Department (Loyola College). B.A. (Wheaton College); M.A. (Wheaton College); Ph.D. (University of Sheffield in England).

Professor Fowl has written numerous articles including: "The Story of Christ in the Ethics of Paul" JSNT Supp. 36 (Sheffield: JSOT Press, 1990), "Reading in Communion: Scripture and Ethics in Christian Life" with L.G. Jones (London: SPCK/Grand Rapids: Eerdmans, 1991) and "Engaging Scripture: An Essay in Theological Interpretation" (Oxford: Blackwell, 1998).

In addition, Professor Fowl has written two books, co-authored another and edited another three volumes. His writing focuses on the relationships between the Bible and theology. From 1990-1995, he was the co-editor of Modern Theology and he currently is on the editorial board of the Journal for the Study of the New Testament Supplement Series.

Professor Fowl lives in Baltimore with his wife and two sons. They worship at the Episcopal Cathedral of the Incarnation and he often speaks to church groups. He volunteers with Sandtown Habitat for Humanity and served on the Board of Directors for New Song Urban Ministries from 1992-1995.
